Teams learn fate

A huge crowd turned out to witness the draws which took place at the Courts Samabula branch.
Defending champion Rewa leads pool one and will be challenged by Nadi, Savusavu, Labasa and Ba. Host Suva who turned few heads during the 2011 Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants is in pool two. They have been drawn alongside Tavua, Lautoka, Navua and Nadroga.
Unlike the past, this year only the host and defending champion were drawn together to determine which pool they occupy while the remaining eight sides were all thrown together in a draw to decide which pool they occupy.
Courts have maintained their support towards the most prestigious event on the Fiji FA calendar. And they have poured in a huge sum of $105.000, 00 in sponsorship.
Fiji FA Acting President Sheik Ibrahim said, sponsors were vital in the survival of football in the country.
“For Fiji FA to host a tournament of this nature on its own would have almost been an impossible task. But thanks to corporate organisation like Courts who are concerned about the development of sports in Fiji and have come out in full support,” Ibrahim said.
“We hope this relationship will continue for the many more years to come and will work towards Courts getting maximum mileage at the event. The Courts IDC is the oldest Fiji FA tournament and it is proud moment for Fiji FA to continue this tradition for the many more years to come.
“On behalf of Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) and the fans I would like to thank Courts for the sponsoring this prestigious event.”
Courts chief executive officer P L Munasinghe said they hoped their assistance will go down a long way in assisting the development of football in Fiji. He further stated that they were pleased to come onboard for the last major tournament of the 2011 season.
