A colourful opening marked the start of the five day event. Below is the address made by Acting Fiji Football President Mr. Anil Sharma.
Vodafone Corporate Affairs Manager Shailendra Prasad, Special Administrator Lautoka Mr. Praveen Bala, Special Administrator Nadi Aisea Tuidraki, Commissioner Western Commander Joeli Cawaki, Roko Tui Ba Ratu Vana Vesikula, Fiji FA CEO Bob Kumar and Fiji FA officials.
I Mr. Anil Sharma stand here proud on behalf of the Fiji FA President Dr. Muhammed Shams-UD-Dean Sahu Khan as we welcome the 2011 Vodafone Fiji FACT.
Fiji FA indeed is proud to host the 21st edition of the Fiji FACT.
I would like to thank sponsors and not forgetting the football fans as without their support the Fiji FACT would not have been a success.
On this note I would like to thank Vodafone for their continued support towards the development of football. This is the third consecutive year that Vodafone has joined hands with Fiji FA and we are hoping this support continues for the many more years to come.
Without sponsors Fiji FA cannot survive on there own. Sponsors like Vodafone have proved that they are good corporate citizen and concerned on the development of sports in Fiji.
This will no doubt be a historic Vodafone Fiji FACT as for the first time all matches will be streamed live online. People all over the world will be able to gain access to this new initiative.
The 2011 Vodafone Fiji FACT will also serve as a selection process for the national side which will be participating in the upcoming Pacific Games and international matches.
As the National Team director the Fiji FACT will be a vital one to eye out the players capable of donning the national jumper.
I would like to encourage the players to give in their best and show what football in Fiji is all about.
To the teams the best of luck and lets all work together to give the 2011 Vodafone Fiji FACT tournament the success it deserves.
