Premier competition set for kick off

Two Southern division matches have been scheduled to take place this Sunday.
Tailevu North will host Lami at Gatward Park in Tailevu while Levuka invite over Nasinu at Nassau Park. Both these matches will kick off at 3pm.
National League board chairman Shiek Ibrahim said they have scrapped the idea of a Viti Levu league which would have combined the Western and Southern premier side and now have opted for the old format.
“We made decision after considering a lot of factors that would have made it difficult to conclude the premier division competition. The recent flooding and weather conditions has affected sides like Rakiraki and travelling to the Southern division on a number of occasions will be a huge financial burden during these hard times,” Ibrahim said.
“The national league board will now stick to the old format for this season and we will discuss the possibility of a Viti Levu League for the 2013 season.”
Levuka, Nasinu, Lami, Tailevu Naitasiri and Tailevu North are part of the Southern division competition.
The Western division competition is scheduled to start at the end of the month. Nalawa, Rakiraki and Vatukoula are the three participating sides in the Western zone.
