The 28-year old, originally from Vuna in Taveuni says the news of making a cut finally in the National side came as a major surprise.
Moceituba says she is ready to make her National debut at the OFC Women’s Nations Cup which starts next Wednesday at the North Harbour Stadium in New Zealand.
“This was the first time for me to be full time in camp with a National squad. It was a good experience as I gained a lot of knowledge being with the other experienced girls. I’m proud of the fact that I will finally get a chance to represent the National Women’s side.
“The knowledge and experience gained during this time will help me as a player and something which I could take back to my district,” Moceituba said.
The special constable who is based in Suva says the support from her employers could not go unnoticed.
“I’m on full time release from work. In the beginning it was very hard to cope up with work and football commitments at the same time. During that time I was only able to attend one session per day which made it very hard.
“Later on I got a release full time from work to pursue my dreams of donning the National jumper and I would like to thank the Fiji Police Force for supporting me,” she said.
Moceituba gained interest to take up football during her primary school days in Vashist Muni. Moceituba later moved to Suva but switched to rugby.
In 2007 the crafty right back joined the Rewa Women’s Football side and participated in various tournaments such as the league and Women’s Inter District Championship and earlier this year was called up in the National Women’s squad.
