This comes as the side took out the two-match Shop N Save sponsored two match series over the Samoa national women’s side last week.
Usenio Logaivau, the national women’s head coach said the knowledge and experience gained during the test series will be and asset for his side.
“We needed this sort of matches before the Pacific Games to boost our morale, know of our strength and weakness. Our whole squad got a chance to play and experience competition at a different level,” Logaivau said.
Fiji women’s beat Samoa 2-0 during the first test last Wednesday at Thomson Park in Navua. A day later Fiji edged a determined Samoa outfit 2-1 at TFL National Stadium in Suva.
“We raised our standards from the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants competition and this tests has helped us know about our strength and weakness in terms of the international standard,” he said.
Joyce Naceva, Sofi Diyalowai, Koleta Boraqa, Maria Lewavuni and Australian based Vanisha Kumar, the five debutants earned their first caps for the national side during the series.
The national women’s side will be out to better their 2007 Pacific Games third place finish.
