This was revealed during the NCC pool draws at the Fiji FA headquarters in Suva yesterday. The NCC will now begin on Friday evening 5pm at Govind Park.
Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) chief executive officer Bob Kumar says the extension was to accommodate the semi finals on Sunday. Earlier it was proposed for the two pool winners to playing directly in the final.
Defending NCC champions Southern Forest Combine (Navua) have been drawn in a tough pool one with Malolo (Nadi), Lokia United (Rewa) and Black Virus (Labasa).
Hosts 4R Electrical and Kings United of Ba will face Raymonds (Rewa) and Police (Labasa).
“The NCC finals have been extended to three days. This is to accommodate the semi finals. Earlier we had planned for the two winners to qualify for the final but we had a request from clubs and sponsors,” Kumar said.
The overall winner of the NCC will walk away with $3000.00 while the runner up $1000.00. Kumar says the clubs will receive an added $500-00 to assist them in preparation.
The Fiji FA CEO says they are in the process of setting out the fixtures which is expected to be made public tomorrow.
The NCC final starts this Friday with the final expected to be played on Sunday at 3pm.
