Dr. Hari Kewal the National Football League board chairman confirmed that Rewa and Ba will participate 5pm following the official opening at the Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.
Kewal says the move was to accommodate for Ba who on Monday travel to New Zealand to take part in the 2011 Radio Apna Fiji Cup.
“I can confirm that the Fiji Sun /Weet-Bix National Football League opening has been rescheduled to this Saturday. The move is to accommodate Ba as they are travelling to NZ early Monday morning for the Fiji Cup,” he said.
“It would have been difficult to play a game in Nausori on Sunday then travel all the way back to Ba late at night and fly out early morning. The official opening this Saturday starts 4.30pm and later at 5pm Rewa and Ba battle in the League opener of the 2011 season,” Kewal said.
The National Football League Board chairman says other matches will go on as scheduled.
“Other matches will go on as scheduled. We have inspected Ganilau Park in Savusavu and I can confirm that we have given the green light for the match between Labasa and Savusavu,” he said.
