Rishi Kumar, the Ba Football Association president said they depart for NZ this Friday with an aim in mind to return with three points. He said they are aware of what to expect.
Waitakere which has the services of Fiji national team striker Roy Krishna will host Ba this Sunday 3pm at Fred Taylor Park in Auckland, NZ.
“I’ am confident that we will not return empty handed,” Kumar said.
“This will be our fifth meeting with Waitakere and from the four past encounters we have learned a lot and know how they play. Our preparation has been going on well and we have a game plan to counter the opposition. It is going to be a cracker of a match and we will do our talking on the field.”
Waitakere comes off a 3-1 defeat to Auckland City last Sunday in the NZ Football ASB Premiership.
Despite Waitakere’s loss, Kumar said they were focusing on the task ahead of them. He has urged the general public for their support.
“We are representing Fiji in the O-League and any sort of support will help us to focus positively. Coming up with negativity will not help the growth of football in the country. It is only the people with negative approach who are bringing football down.”
Ba following their 2-1 victory over New Caledonia based AS Mont-Dore on match day one of the O-League currently sits on second spot in Group A.
A victory over Waitakere this Sunday will see the traditional football giants of Fiji top their group and stand a good chance to qualify for the final.
