Presidents Corner

Greetings to all
Fiji-Play Fair Brazil Tour
I would like to congratulate the national team management and players for a wonderful outing during the two match series.
Indeed it was a dream come true to witness a side from Brazil at our own backyard. Some of the former greats and world cup winners were part of the series and at the end of the day it was rewarding for the fans and Fiji Football Association as our players got a lot of exposure.
To Edge Management Group and major sponsors Vodafone, thank you once again for considering Fiji Football Association for this initiative and we hope for a similar support in the near future.
Looking at the national side many of the senior players did not make themselves available for the test and thus our young stars stood tall and made us all proud.
Losing 2-1 in the opening clash in Lautoka and later leveling the series with a 1-0 victory at Govind Park marked a historic victory for the national football body.
We are proud of the players who played with a lot of heart.
Our campaign for the 2014 FIFA World Cup playoffs is over but we have started preparing for the next campaign and we hope to achieve our target.
We have another four years and a plan which will be working towards and all we ask the general public to support us.
Protests
I learned last week that another protest has been filed with the Fiji Football Association. This time Suva has filed a protest against Savusavu.
It is sad to note that districts continue to suffer and it is time that they get their administration in order.
On the other hand the players need to honest as well and state correctly if they have taken their release properly or not.
I would like to make it clear that from now on if players falsify their information and are caught in the act they will be taken to task.
Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League
The Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League has been scheduled to be completed in September. I would like to congratulate the National Football League board for the wonderful work so far and at the same time request the districts to cooperate with us to see that we work together to see the competition complete on time.
