Navua U21 on Track

After dismantling Suva U21 a fortnight ago last week Lami fell victims losing 3-0. The Navua side seems to be on track to top their division.
Rewa on the other hand also made a perfect start to their campaign as they thumped Tailevu Naitasiri 4-1.
In the lone U21 match played in the Western zone Ba defeated Nadi U21 4-0 at Govind Park.
The same could not be said for the Navua senior side who were upset 0-1 by Labasa and are in danger of losing out a spot at the 2012 Vodafone Fiji FACT tournament.
Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) board had made it clear at the start of the season that teams that are in the top eight positions in the national football league at the FACT cut-off date will only earn a berth.
This means that two Super Premier sides are set to miss out on the 2012 Vodafone Fiji FACT.
Gopal Naidu, the Navua Football association president said they need to react quickly or prepare to face the consequences.
“The Navua FA executive committee has already met,” Naidu said.
“We met to discuss of where we are going wrong and looked for a solution. A plan has been mapped out and we hope to get some success in our remaining matches.”
Navua lost 1-2 to Suva in the opening round and later against Ba by a similar margin.
Last Friday night they had to come from a goal down to settle for a 1-1 draw against Savusavu but later were upset 0-1 by Labasa on Sunday.
Reports on the local media states that their coach Ramesh Chandra has now been sent on a two weeks leave.
