Ba targets O-League

Kumar says they know what to expect when their O-League quest begins next Sunday and assures that they will be fully prepared to make us all proud.
The Western giants came close of doing just that in 2007 but Waitakere United of New Zealand edged them out on a better goal difference.
“O-League will be our biggest test,” Kumar said.
“We had a chance last time (2007) but we missed out on goal difference to Waitakere. We have been there and know what is to be expected from the other clubs. This time we will go fully prepared.”
The 2011-2012 O-League season officially kicks off next weekend. Ba has been seeded in Group A with Waitakere United (NZ), AS Mont-Dore (New Caledonia) and AS Tefana (Tahiti).
Ba plays their opening match against AS Mont-Dore at Govind Park next Sunday.
Ba has named Simione Tamanisau (Rewa), Esava Naqeleca (Suva) and Jone Vono Junior (Lautoka) in their 30-member squad.
Kumar says any chance of the trio featuring in the opening three matches have been ruled out.
“We will recruit players from other districts and they will join us in the next transfer window but we will have to play the first three games without them. In January (second round) we will have a totally different team and I’m sure that this time we will do our nation Fiji proud in football,” Kumar said.
