Lautoka thumped Savusavu 7-0 in the last match of the day while Rewa upset tournament favourites Labasa 1-0.
Lautoka looks sharp and favourite to be one of the two qualifiers from pool two. Their coach Yogen Dutt said he was pleased with the victory first up.
“It was a good start to the tournament and the boys did well. We have other matches remaining so our focus now will turn towards it,” Dutt said.
The surprise of the day was Tavua who held defending champions Ba to a 0-0 draw. Suva made a positive start to their campaign as beat Nadi 2-0.
