A blunder by the Navua defence saw Nigerian Sanni Issa score a crucial goal, minutes from full time to take Rewa into the final.
Rewa skipper and goalie Simione Tamanisau made a huge difference for the delta tigers as he denied Navua numerous goals.
National Coach Gurjit Singh, who also helped the Navua side during the B.O.G agreed that Tamanisau was the thorn for the Navua attack.
“We dominated the match and had a lot of possession but in the end a mistake by our defence cost us the game. Navua played well but I think Rewa goal keeper Simione Tamanisau really made a difference.
“Navua is building a young side and it is a positive as in time to come they will be a much better side,” Singh said.
In the second semi final Suva played above expectations to knock out tournament favourites Skippy Labasa 2-0.
Lanky striker Apisai Smith scored his side’s opening goal. Any chance of Labasa equalising was put to rest when Archie Watkins came off the bench to guide Suva in the final.
Watkins was part of the Rewa outfit last season which won the 2011 Inkk Mobile B.O.G title at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
An estimated number of 9000 football fans turned out this morning to witness the two semi finals.
