Onus on Suva

This comes as the traditional giants beat Suva 1-0 last Sunday during the opening leg of the two match series which was played at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
Suva needs two clear goals to win and deny Ba in front of their home fans.
A 1-0 win by Suva will force a third leg of the series.
Avinesh Waran Suwamy scored the match winning goal in the 50th minute for his Ba side last Sunday.
Both sides started the match strongly and had equal number of opportunities but could not find the back of the net.
Meli Codro probably had the best chance to score when he fired a powerful shot from near the left hand edge of the box but Suva goalie Emori Ragata was at the right spot.
Suva felt the heat in the second half as Ba looked dangerous and was rewarded in the 50 minute after a series of attacks on the Suva goal.
The capital side’s comeback faced a major blow when key defender Samuela Vula was given the marching orders by referee Andrew Achari.
10-men Suva tried hard but Ba held on to mark a winning start to the new season.
Ba coach Yogendra Dutt said a win in the first leg of the two match series is a positive move towards their campaign to retain the Champions League title.
“The win should take away some pressure of the team. I’m satisfied with the performance of the team,” Dutt told Sunsports.
Suva coach Gurjit Singh said fitness is something which concerns him.
“One goal does not make a lot of difference and our main concern is that we will work on is the fitness of the players. It was a tough game and the boys played well despite a difficult weather condition,” Singh told SunSports.
The second and final leg will be played this Sunday at Govind Park in Ba at 4pm.
