Nadroga soccer fined

Amitesh Pal, the secretary for the national league board said the Nadroga Under 21 side fielded two ineligible players during their 5-0 win over Tavua U21 in the Fiji Sun GP Batteries Under 21 league earlier this month.
Pal confirmed that the Nadroga Football Association is fined and three points from the win over Tavua U21 been stripped.
“Upon going through the referee’s report of the Fiji Sun GP Batteries U21 National Football League match between Nadroga U21 and Tavua U21 played at Lawaqa Park on March 10, 2013 it was discovered that four unregistered players were part of the Nadroga side of which two took to the field,” Pal said.
The four players are Shavneel Jeet Singh, Subendra Sailosi Kumar, Ulaiasi Nawua (did not play) and Divneel Kumar (did not play).
“Despite circulating the update list before the match, Nadroga still fielded unregistered players which were not on their updated registration list circulated prior to the match.
We therefore treat it as defiance of our system and had no choice but to fine Nadroga Football Association $150 and $50 for each ineligible player fielded with 3 points to be stripped,” Pal said.
