Koloale lost all their three first round matches but Lautoka coach Gurjit Singh believes despite their shortfall the visitors will be a tough nut to crack. The Solomon Islands based club lost 2-1 to Lautoka, 4-0 to Hekari and 2-0 to Amicale.
Match kicks off 3pm at Churchill Park. Lautoka currently leads Group A with seven points following wins over Amicale 1-0 and Koloale 2-1. Last month they drew 0-0 against Hekari United of Papua New Guinea.
“Koloale seems to be down in the competition at the moment but they are not out yet. It will be a very tough match for us where we cannot afford to lose. We need to maintain our lead in the competition if we are to qualify for the O-League final,” Singh said.
The Lautoka coach says they cannot afford to drop crucial points as they enter the business end of the O-League. At the end of the round robin stage the Group A and Group B winner will face off in the final of the O-League for a 2011 FIFA Club World Cup spot.
Lautoka lost 0-1 to Navua over the weekend in the Pillay Garment Champions League at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori. The Lautoka head coach believes they need to learn quickly from the mistakes they made.
The Sugar City boys face Ba tonight at Govind Park, Singh says this will be a good build up for Saturday’s clash against Koloale.
“Playing against Ba will indeed be a good build up for us and we will be looking forward to a good outing. I would like to urge all the Lautoka fans to come out in numbers and support us as we play few crucial points,” Singh said.
