Long wait for Lovu Over

This year was a blessing year for Lovu Sangam School Soccer team. They became champions after 20 years. Last they won was when Nilesh Mudaliar former Lautoka rep ,national rep and sangam rep played for the school in the year 1992.
Last Lovu Sangam School Soccer Team played the final in 2007 and lost to Natabua Primary School by just a lone goal in the early stages of play.
This year we were optimistic that under 14 team will lift the trophy since last years under 12 were the champs coached by Shelvin Prasad and in the good hands of the team manager Shekar Sharan.
This year’s under 14 successful coach was none other than Aten Prasad and team manager being Ajay Dutt.
The team also had the technical director Dinamani Mudaliar. The three combined well after their first loss to Lautoka Methodist School by two goals to nil.
We sat down had made some changes in the team and made plan B. We nailed Lautoka Primary School and Andhra Sangam School by defeating them by two goals to nil each.
It was do or die situation when we played against Lautoka Central School where we had to win this game.
Only one message was passed to the players that we need to win. The boys did well and stuck to the game plan. Sevuloni was the toast of all when he nailed his third goal in the tournament and gave life to move to play final with 9 points as the leader.
We defeated Lautoka Methodist School in the Final. The revenge was a sweet victory but nail biting. The game was decided in the penalty kicks. We won by 3 goals to 1.
