Raijieli ready to lead Fiji

The Nasinu district based defender made her debut for the national women’s side at the 2010 Oceania Football Confederation Women’s Nations Cup held in New Zealand last year.
She has come a long way since then and is ready to lead our women at the meet.
“First of all I would like to thank the almighty and the team management for having faith in me,” Lewasoqevula said.
“It is an honour and privilege to lead the national side at the Pacific Games and I’m looking forward to it. I’m still young and got a long way to go in my career. All this experience and exposure will no doubt help me become a good footballer.”
Former Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) Savusavu based Salote Yaya and Viniana Riwai a survivor from the last national women’s side have been named vice captains.
The national women’s side plays their opening match of the Pacific Games next Wednesday 12pm against Tonga.
Our women lost 2-1 to Tonga during the last meeting in October last year but months of the hard work and commitment by the players and team management should set a good morale to topple their opponents.
