“The team has prepared really well for the playoff and has played number of build up matches against district team and this will help the players get exposure ahead of the tournament.” Singh said.
Singh who has coached the under 20 side who lost to Australia 2-0 in 1998 said the team should qualify for the World Cup based on their performance.
“I do not see any reason why the team should not qualify for the World Cup as the team has some experience players in the squad,”
Singh who has won the Coach of the Year last year has asked the players to be more disciplined and concentrate on the matches ahead of them.
“The players should play their heart out for the nation as this chance and opportunity will never come back in their life as they are the fortunate ones who have been selected to represent the country and they are carrying the hopes of their family, friends and the whole nation are banking on them to make the country proud.” Singh enthused.
He is also calling on the football fans in the country to come in numbers and support the team.
“ The boys need a lot of support from the people and playing in front of their home ground will be an advantage for the team.” Singh urged the fans.
Singh has also wished the side best for the OFC playoff.
