A miracle it is which could only now change Ba’s fate as the Men in Black side can target to win their last three second round encounters and hope for their other group opponents to upset New Zealand based Waitakere United to get back in contention.
Ba last Saturday lost 4-1 to AS Tefana during match day three of the O-League ending the match with only eight players as the likes of Malakai Tiwa, Avinesh Swamy and Isimeli
Naresia were sent off. Earlier on match day two Ba lost to Waitakere United 4-0.
Ba has now slipped to third place on the standings and is one point behind AS Tefana.
It was all smiles for our Roy Krishna’s Waitakere United side which ended the first round of the O-League on a high note with a 1-0 victory over AS Mont-Dore in New Caledonia.
With their third consecutive O-League victory in a row and nine points in the bag, Waitakere looks the top bet from Group A to book a spot in the final next season.
The second round Group A matches begins in February 18, 2012 whereby Ba will travel to New Caledonia to face AS Mont-Dore; they later host Waitakere and AS Tefana at Govind Park.
The last 2011-2012 O-League match of the year will take place this Saturday as Papua New Guinea based Hekari United side will host Amicale FC of Vanuatu. Hekari will boast the services of Fijian international trio Maciu Dunadamu, Taniela Waqa and Pita Bolaitoga.
