Vulivuli to officiate at U-17 FIFA World Cup

The 2010 U-17 Women’s World Cup will be held from 5-25 September. Vulivuli will represent the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) with fellow Jacqui Stephenson (NZL) and Lata I Sia Tuifutuna (Tonga) who will be assistant referees at the major event.
Fiji Football Association Chief Executive Officer Bob Kumar says this was a major achievement for the Savusavu school teacher.
“This is a very good opportunity for Finau and at the same time great news for Fiji FA. Finau continues to progress in her young career and at the same time is promoting the country. Fiji FA is proud that one of our referees will be part of the World Cup,” Kumar said.
Fiji FA Referees Director Chandra Segran says Vulivuli’s recent performance has backed her progress.
“Her recent performance in the OFC U-20 championship and the Algrave Cup in Portugal were closely followed and she was considered for the 2010 FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup. Finau also officiated at the FIFA Womens U-17 World Cup in NZ last year. This is a good experience for her and we hope that she does the country proud,” Segran said
