This was revealed by Glenn Turner the FIFA Development officer during the official contract signing of the Fiji FA’s Goal Project II at the National headquarters in Suva last Friday.
The second goal project is situated in Vatuwaqa, Suva which will house the Fiji FA headquarters, training pitches, futsal court and accommodation. The project is expected to be completed by April 2011.
“Once the Goal Project II is completed Fiji will then be in line for another goal project in the next cycle 2011-2014. Then there will be another goal project available to Fiji FA, 2015-2018. So there is a lot for Fiji FA board to think about,” Turner said.
“FIFA now has at least 40 projects completed in the Oceania region over the last 12 years .”
And Fiji FA President Dr. Muhammed Shams-UD-Dean Sahu Khan has already made his intentions clear that the third goal project is going to the Northern division.
“Once the Goal II project has been completed then we will apply for a third one which will be situated in Labasa which is going to be bigger than the Suva one. I have already seen a good piece of land in Labasa,” Dr. Sahu Khan said.
FIFA allocated a grant US$500,000.00 for Fiji FA’s second goal project. Fiji’s first goal project is located in Ba.
