Despite the odds against them, Lautoka earned a well deserved 2-1 victory over Koloale last Saturday at Lawson Tama Stadium in Solomon Islands.
The Blues now host Vanuatu champions Amicale next month on the 13th. In December Lautoka face Hekari United and later in February 2011 wrap up their home games against Koloale. These three matches will be played at Churchill Park and kick off 3pm. Lautoka then play their away matches against Amicale and Hekari.
But Shalendra Prasad the Lautoka Football President says their immediate focus was on Amicale side that upset defending O-League champions Hekari 2-1 over the weekend.
“We are taking this match very seriously. It is going to be a cracker as both sides have three points each so far. Amicale will be a tough side and we cannot underestimate them as they beat a star studded Hekari side.
“Lautoka will prepare well for the match and we hope to have our Nigerian based players in action as by then we should receive their ITC’s (International Transfer Certificates),”Prasad said.
Navua coach Gurjit Singh guided Lautoka during their O-League opener against Koloale. Prasad says Singh will remain in charge of the top post for the remainder of his side’s O-League commitments.
