New Zealand, Fiji and hosts Solomon Islands are all capable of qualifying for the semi final from group B of the 2012 Nations Cup, which starts this Friday in Honiara.
“New Zealand is always a good side with very good players who are playing overseas and we look forward for our game against them in the Nations Cup,” Krishna told SunSPORTS yesterday.
He added: “Our boys are ready for our first game and we respect not only New Zealand but also the hosts Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea.
We respect all these teams and expect them to be tough because they have very good players.”
Meanwhile, he is not ruling out the possibility of causing an upset to the mighty All Whites on Saturday, like he did in 2008 when he notched home a winning double against the same Kiwi side.
“You can’t say much. In football, anything can happen.
So we are just waiting for Saturday and see what happens. But we are ready and hopefully we can do our best,” he said.
“For a player to play in the World Cup is always a dream come true and the journey for us in Oceania begins this week.
But you know playing against the All Whites and then Solomon Islands and PNG is not an easy task but hopefully, we can qualify for the semis and from there we put in the hands of God.”
Krishna also praised his former team mate at Waitakere United and Solomon Islands striker Benjamin Totori and believes he (Totori) can do great things at this tournament.
“Benji (Benjamin Totori) is always a good player and one of the best in the Pacific region but there are some Island boys as well so we are expecting a good game against the Solomon Islands,” he said.
