Both teams played to a 0-0 draw today after recording big wins in the first day of competition over the visiting Australian teams.
Fiji West U17 Coach Ravinesh Kumar says both the Fiji teams have displayed excellent soccer for the two days and he now sees a bright future for our National team in years to come.
“These players are now growing in confidence and I can assure you if we continue to train like this we will have a bright future”.
“If you look at this game my team the West U17s they panicked a little bit since they had an equally matched opponent today”.
“Overall I am impressed with their performance so far and now we have got five points and hopefully we will do well in our last match to book a plce in the finals,” says the Ba School teacher.
The players were a bit tired in the second spell and according to Kumar Fiji should start playing competitive level soccer for 90 minutes instead of the bazaar 60 minute football.
“These players when they are in school they only play 30 minute a side so my opinion is that we should start playing 45 minute a side because that will only help the players to continue playing for the 90 minutes,” Kumar says.
Meanwhile in the second match Capital Football beat IFG 1-0.
