Ali gets lifetime free pass

Thirty Two year old Shafil Irsaz Ali of Nadogo has been awarded complimentary lifetime access to all events sanctioned by the Fiji Football Association.

Ali caught the eyes of many including Fiji FA CEO Mohammed Yusuf and board members during the Vodafone Senior League Vanua Levu zone final rounds at Daku Primary School in Nadogo.

Ali who is deaf and has passion for football, plays for Nadogo team as a midfielder

He is originally from Seaqaqa has been working as a foreman at Abbas Engineering Limited in Labasa for 22 years.

After playing for various teams during religious and bazaar tournament, Ali was selected this year to be part of the Nadogo team.

Nadogo Football Association president Mohammed Yunus said the officials had never faced problems in communicating with Mr Ali.

“He knows what he has to do when he on the field,” Mr Yunus said.

“He shows respect to everyone and remains calm at all times including on the field.”

He said they considered themselves fortunate to have such a man with great discipline.

Married and a father to a seven-year-old child, Mr Ali currently resides in Naduna, Labasa.
