It will be Punjas Battle of the Giants (BOG) for the next three years.
Fiji Football Association has welcomed Punjas on board as the major sponsor of the Battle of the Giants tournament after the official launch at the Ocean Soaps Pte in Navutu, Lautoka last week.
Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel said it was yet again a historical moment as the Association welcomed back Punjas on board.
“Today (Friday, July 24) marks a historical occasion on our Football calendar as we unveil PUNJAS as our main sponsor for the 2020 Battle of the Giants Tournament.
“I have much pleasure to officially announce the Punjas Battle of the Giants 2020 and I thank Punja’s Group of Companies for the three years of partnership.
“This is not the first time we are unveiling Punjas as our sponsors. They were our major sponsors for BOG in 2003, 2004 and 2005. Today, it is my privilege to welcome back Punjas on board with Fiji FA,” Patel said.
Patel said this year’s sponsorship was very timely coming from the Directors of Punjas showing their support in developing football in Fiji in this difficult time.
“I would like to thank Punjas for their continued support without which hosting a tournament of this nature will not be possible. Their sponsorship will no doubt go a long way in helping football further promote in the country.
“The sponsorship for sure will also assist in changing lives of many individuals amid the Covid-19 pandemic as the Punjas BOG will give them breaks to refresh their minds and enjoy the sports they love the most.”
Rajesh Punja, the director of Punja Group of Companies said they were equally proud to be the name behind Battle of the Giants tournament.
“The Battle of the Giants Tournament is the most anticipated football competition of the year and is an important event on Fiji’s sporting calendar.
“We feel proud and very privileged to be the naming sponsor for Punjas Battle of Giants.”
