This was after the eight participating teams in the premier division of Courts Inter-District Championship 2019 finally came to know their opponents following a successful completion of pool draws.
Defending champion Lautoka heads group A together with the current Vodafone Premier League champions Ba, Battle of the Giants champion Labasa together with the recently relegated, yet tournament underdogs, Tavua.
Hosts and Vodafone Fiji Fact champion Nadi lead group B together with Suva, giantkillers Nasinu and Rewa.
Fiji Football Association chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf explained the process as to how teams were seeded in four different pots.
“The first pot consisted of Lautoka as the defending champion and Nadi as host,” Yusuf said.
“In pot 2, we have Ba as the Vodafone Premier League (VPL) leaders and Suva who is currently sitting on third place as we conduct our draws. Pot 3 includes Labasa as fourth placed and Nasinu who is on sixth position in VPL.
“Rewa and Tavua is in pot 4 as the two bottom placed teams in the VPL.”
