25 coaches enhance skills at workshop

Twenty Five highly motivated coaches within Fiji Football were given the opportunity to broaden their skills with the OFC Senior Coaching Certificate course last weekend.

The Course was conducted by Yogendra Dutt, Fiji FA acting Technical Director.

Dutt said the target group were the women football coaches.

“This course targets the coaches who will be coaching the women football teams in their respective districts.”

Dutt said this was a pathway for the coaches to attain C-License Certificate.

“These coaches will be eligible to be in the technical area during the games as per requirements and could progress to another level which is C-License, “said Dutt

“They have enhanced their knowledge in coaching after attending the 3-day course.

He said this would also give coaches to follow the new Fiji FA football philosophy.

“We want all the teams to have same football philosophy and these coaches will implement all they have learnt from here in the respective district teams which will for sure will see competitive women’s football competition this year, “said Dutt

“It is not only about the players, it’s about the education level of the coaches as well which is very important.”

One of the participants Losana Ranadi of Navua said she had broaden her knowledge in the three days course.

“Actually I have learnt a lot from the theory and practical season and this will help me coach the team with more broaden knowledge now,” said Ranadi

Ranadi is confident that she will get Navua promoted to Super Six next season.

“After attending this course I have a aim to bring Navua women’s team to the Super Six League next year,” said Ranadi
