Fiji have beaten Solomon Islands 2-0 in the opening match of the OFC Men's Olympic Qualifier at Owen Delany Park in Taupo, New Zealand.

The match kicks off

1' Solomon Islands break down the right but James Egeta collects an elbow in the face and play is held up while he receives treatment

2' Egeta has to leave the field to receive further treatment and play continues

3' Egeta returns to the action and appears fit to continue

6' SUBSTITUTION: Francis Lafai picks up what looks to be a bad injury and is replaced by Chris Tafoa for Solomon Islands

10' Kavaia Rawaqa whips a cross over from the left for Fiji but puts too much on it and it sails out for a goal kick

12' Substitute Tafoa tries his luck from distance for Solomon Islands but can't get enough power to beat goalkeeper Akuila Mateisuva

13' Moffat Kilifa has the best chance of the game when he goes round Mateisuva and chips the ball towards goal but it bounces wide

16' The Solomons have started the brighter and are showing some nice touches

17' Kilifa breaks free again and shoots but Mateisuva makes a comfortable save

18' GOAL!!! Fiji 1 - 0 Solomon Islands: Fiji go ahead against the run of play when captain Esava Naqeleca nods home a Misaele Draunibaka corner

21' Zibraaz Sahib hits a volley at the Solomons goal from just outside the box but goalkeeper Silas Seda gathers easily

23' It's Fiji that are enjoying a good spell now as they go looking for a second goal

24' Fiji nearly get that second when Jone Salauneune makes room for shot inside the box but does strike the ball well enough to cause Seda much trouble

30' The match hs settled into an even pattern with both sides seeing plenty of the ball

31' Solomon captain Jeffery Bule goes down injured and play is held up while he receives treatment

32' Bule is well enough to continue and play restarts

34' Mateisuva has to take evasive action to keep out a cross-come-shot from the left from Jerry Donga

42' Kilifa finds space on the left inside the box for Solomon Islands but his touch is heavy and he is under too much pressure to get enough power in his attempt
