MEN'S Test Two: Fiji 5 Samoa 1

The senior Fiji men’s side seems to be on the right track in preparation for the 2011 Pacific Games in New Caledonia.

Fiji's Alvin Avinesh.

This comes as they completed the two Shop N Save sponsored test match series on a high note with a sounding 5-1 victory over Samoa earlier today at the TFL National Stadium
in Suva.

New Zealand based Waitakere striker Roy Krishna was at his best as he claimed a hat trick. Former Hekari United star midfielder Malakai Tiwa scored a brace of goals as the national side now turns their focus towards the Pacific Games.

Fiji led 2-0 at the break and put up a stronger performance in the second half to secure a comfortable victory. But the Samoans had their moments when Albert Bell beat Fiji goal keeper Simione Tamanisau to score.

Other than that, Fiji just like the first test dominated possession. Gurjit Singh, the national men’s coach tried out various players and combination.
